Lakeview Plantation / Cedar KnollŪ
Trails Rules
-
As required by South Carolina law, all
horses and mules must have proof of current, 12 month
Negative Coggins test before unloading. All
horses will be checked for proper match at the check-in
station. NO EXCEPTIONS!
-
While Lakeview Plantation/Cedar KnollŪ
Trails makes every effort to insure that the trails
and facilities are safe, we assume no risk nor
liability for injuries resulting from the inherent
risks of equine activities, "pursuant to Article
7, Chapter 9 of Title 47, Code of Laws of South Carolina,
1976."
-
All visitors must sign a waiver of
liability before participating in any activities on
Lakeview Plantation. Minors also need the signature
of their parent or guardian and should bring a signed
release with them, if their parent or guardian will
not be in attendance.
-
The trees, shrubbery, food plots
and lawn on Lakeview Plantation are valuable,
esthetically pleasing resources. Consequently,
horses or mules should not be tied, ridden, exercised
or lunged where trees, shrubbery, food plots or
lawn, including those encountered on trails and
in the camping area, would be damaged. Please
do not tie to trailers in the camping area other
than for tacking up. Picketing and lunging are
permitted in designated areas only. Picket
lines, electric fences and customer stalls are not
permitted inside the boundaries of the camping area.
Fires are permitted only in designated areas or fire
pits provided by Lakeview Plantation and/or in raised
fire pits (which do not come in contact with the ground)
provided by the customer. Please do not attempt
to burn trash in fire pits.
-
Please, "Don't be a Litterbug."
Return all litter to the proper receptacles including
cigarette butts. Follow a "pack
it in, pack it out" policy. Do not
discard cans, paper or cigarette butts on the trails
or in camping area.
-
Guests are responsible for the removal
of all waste created by the animals and uneaten hay
to the compost pile or to the appropriate receptacle
(muck bucket) provided by Lakeview Plantation on a
daily basis. This includes, but is not limited
to that deposited in stalls, along picket lines, and
in camping areas. Please clean up thoroughly
before departure.
-
Pets must be caged, kenneled or leashed
at all times. No pets are allowed
on trails, in recreation hall or in main lodge.
-
The recreation hall is closed to
guests from camping area and main lodge after 11:00
PM in order to allow those staying in the adjacent
rooms to rest.
-
The recreation hall is off limits
to minors, unless under the direct supervision of
their parent or guardian.
-
Please observe all posted signs.
Do not trespass on adjacent posted land.
-
Possession/use of illegal drugs is
expressly prohibited and will result in arrest and
prosecution.
-
Public intoxication, vulgar language
and/or lewd behavior are not appropriate behavior
at Lakeview Plantation and will not be tolerated.
Please help us to maintain a wholesome family atmosphere.
